Leax offers a true one-stop shop, for the widest range of the highest quality architectural lighting control and dimming systems.
A leading British manufacturer, Leax has many years’ experience of working as a professional partner to electrical consultants and contractors, architects and lighting designers. So we’re ready to meet your demands in any key sector, for any size of project.

We are the only company offering a full range of both architectural dimming systems and commercial lighting control modules. We also offer the widest range of control plates, with a full choice of screwless plates, engraving and custom finishes.

But whichever system you choose, you’ll find them easy to install and simple to programme. Our control plates are the only ones specifically designed to take into account the needs of AV and system integrators. Through our partnership programmes with integrators such as Crestron and AMX, we ensure our plates also offer slave control (with feedback) to home management systems.
Designed to replace standard the requirement for standard light switches, our plates fit neatly into one or two gang sockets, keeping walls clear of the rash of controls other solutions often create.
As a unique time and cost-saving solution, The entire system can also be pre-commissioned in our factory for true ‘plug and play’ installation.

Your working relationship with Leax can be as hands-on or hands-off as you choose.
Our engineers understand your business, and can work with you to interpret a specification, and to develop the design which will deliver the most effective system, on budget. We will develop a full set of electrical installation drawings for approval, then our engineers will project manage the manufacturing and testing of the system. We also offer a unique programming service at the point of production, to reduce expensive on-site commissioning.
You’ll find our engineers exceptionally experienced. Joining us as fully qualified and skilled electricians with relevant sector experience, they then undergo an additional 6 months’ intensive training before being allowed to work on our more complex projects.
Our membership of CEDIA, BIDA and The Lighting Association means we fully understand your needs, and have the expertise – as well as the products – to meet them.

Many of our customers are at the cutting edge of lighting and architectural design. Our four man research and development team is continually developing new product- and improving our existing portfolio. So our range includes the most innovative technology, designs and materials, coupled with exceptional functionality and flexibility: including built-in energy saving capabilities such as class-leading presence detection, daylight linking and timed event operation.

Setting the standards
All our products are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed CE classification and UL standard approval (where appropriate). Bought-in components are sourced only from reputable suppliers with ISO9001 (and other relevent) accreditations.
As environmental considerations become ever more important, we aim to meet legislation and exceed expectations. For example, we are already on course – more than a year ahead of forthcoming WEEE and RoHS legislation – for totally lead-free manufacturing by the end of June 2005. |
|

Our experience and expertise covers all key sectors: residential, hospitality & leisure, corporate, retail, heritage and museums & galleries. So whether your project is a nationwide retail roll-out or a single room wall dimmer with 4 circuits and scene set programming, we have the knowledge and resources to provide a complete solution.
Our close association with the British Interior Design Association (BIDA) also gives us a unique understanding of current design trends and the specific demands of the interior design sector, making us ideal partners in this sector.

Our complete, end-to-end, all-under-one-roof service has many advantages for you and your projects.
A single point of contact and responsibility makes your job easier, as well as offering greater cost-effectiveness. And our added value services help to make your entire project run more smoothly.
For example, we can undertake a definition of the brief to help you establish the most effective route to your client’s aims. We can carry out on-site commissioning to ensure the quality of design and manufacture is maintained right through your project. We can even be embedded in your design team, providing a unique liaison between engineers and architects, with our broad knowledge and understanding of both regulatory requirements and aesthetic demands.

As demand grows for more control over the interior lighting environment, so is lighting becoming an increasingly complex field.
Through necessity, control systems are now a fundamental resource in lighting projects. DMX controls, the use of colour through LEDs, greater systems integration and higher quality design require closer working relationships between manufacturers, consultants and designers, to provide a total system solution. (like it!)
To maintain control over this rapidly developing and changing situation, you need to work with a partner with complete knowledge and understanding of the latest thinking and technology in the industry.

Echelon is the leading supplier of infrastructure hardware and software to the rapidly growing device networking market. Since 1988, Echelon's solution‹the LonWorks™ system‹has been adopted by thousands of device and system manufacturers. Millions of connected LonWorks™ devices have been installed into buildings, factories, transportation systems, homes, utilities, and hundreds of other applications worldwide.
LEAX systems utilise Echelon's LonWorks technology as their base communications protocol. Leax¹s own configuration software allows easy configuration of stand alone systems, but both our dimming and control systems can be easily integrated with many other leading suppliers of building control services, due to the open systems architecture.
LonWorks™ allows shared networks for HVAC, Blind Control, Lighting Control, Fire and Security systems, with many sources for the majority of components. No interfacing devices are required between these items due to the shared standard network variable sets used by all LonMarked systems. Field cabling is simple using FT10 transceivers, it can be undertaken in twisted pair Belden cables or CAT5 in free topology hence Serial, Star or Branch are all possible. Lon cables are also polarity free. All devices are linked with Logical connections that can be different to the physical network structure allowing for flexibility and adaptability. Stand-alone operation is possible due to the distributed intelligence but also fully integrated building automation systems allowing true scalability. All devices have non-volatile application programs that can be uploaded across the network allowing for future updates with any new features. |
